|For anyone that only owns TM United/Nations, yes, this is what TrackMania 2 looks like!|
So, why was this done? Well, you see, I may be jealous of the chord progression knowledge of professional composers, but I'll admit that when I look past said jealousy and envy, I like their music they compose for video games! One such song I like is called Secret of the Forest from Chrono Trigger. It's a beautiful song within the limitations of the SNES that mainly uses a flute-type instrument and a piano, seemingly composed just to make the forest areas of said game feel more "beautiful". This is the only Chrono Trigger song you'll ever hear me talk about, so...have a listen to it!
I may not be able to use music from other video games when I release Mary's Magical Adventure, but who says I can't temporarily use it until new music is composed for the level? I'd probably have someone compose a song like Secret of the Forest as it's too good to get rid of, but until then, I planned to use it on the first grass level, 2-1, which would have a forest of trees...somewhere.
As said above, though, my mind kept playing the song, which counts as me listening to it! Even when watching videos, it would still try to play Secret of the Forest to me! At this rate, I wouldn't be able to finish the Uroboros (1-4) before I'd get to the level where this would play! While watching a video yesterday, it hit me: I could use one of the TrackMania games to make a forest area quicker than the boredom could set in, then use the music there. Now I don't have to worry about rushing to finish that level so I can begin work on the next one, plus I get a break from developing MMA. Genius!
Now, I can be relieved; The song is now used in something, so it never has to be inserted into my game before my mind thinks this song can somehow become old! Here's the release video, where you can enjoy the music again, along with links to download the track and music!
